Look at my baby girl...

isn't she cute? She is starting to get a baby belly and look at her boobs, they are hugh. Her father keeps telling me to stop saying that, that is his little girl I'm talking about. haha! The baby is the size of a banana at 21 weeks. I love watching the little count down clock on her blog and seeing what fruit or vegetable the baby's size is compared to. I just finished a little pink hat for Hannah Grace to wear in the hospital. I just couldn't bare my first grandbaby to wear her first hat made by a stranger. It is so cute with bow and all.

June, July and everything in between....

I can't believe it is August already. I guess it has been awhile since I have posted anything. I guess not much going on except the garden growing this summer. And summer is almost over. School starts Tuesday for Gabby. I know it was a boring summer for her, sorry Gabby. Hope school this year will be a great Sophomore year for her.

I never did show any pictures of the garden growing. Sorry, don't know what the heck I was thinking. We had tons of tomatoes this year, green beans, cucumbers and carrots. Hardly any squash, stupid bugs got them this year no matter how much I sprayed. Now I need to plan on some veggies to plant for Fall.

So like I said it has been pretty boring around here. Even the dogs are so bored they are trying to get Gary's attention at the same time. Theo has to sit on his lap and Presley can't stand it so he sits on top of the end table. Gotta love our dogs, they are so goofy.

So now that the summer is almost over I need to figure out what to do about making some money. Not sure what I want to do. Well I do, I want to do the fabric thing, but afraid to spend the money to start it up. But hopefully something will happen soon. Until then I just keep trying to finish somethings I have started. Pulled out a quilt that I bought the fabric over ten years ago. That's pretty bad. I will probably finish it and give to someone as a Christmas present. Just need the motivation. But the top is almost done so I should be able to do it.

Well until next posting, I hope everyone out there is doing well. Hopefully I won't take months before I post again.

Here is the link: http://www.artfire.com/users/petschminibear Let me know what you think. It was hard putting the pictures on there for me, just like here, it takes me awhile to figure it out.

Happenings around here....

My 50th birthday.....
Don't you love the banner my family embarrassed me with, Gabby made it in school. The week before my birthday I was really depressed and was not looking forward to it. But it came and went and I'm okay with it now. People don't think I look 50, so I guess that is a good thing.

Margaret, Lynn and I went to Sonja's house last Monday to see the new lamb's. They were so cute...

Started the garden, it's starting to spout things, which makes me happy......

And we have a new addition to the yarn shop....little Miss Fiona....an English Angora bunny....I have to admit she is very cute....

And the "Blooming Cotton Scarf" that I made as a sample for the yarn shop...it was fun to make...and the shop has all the different color combinations for your knitting needs :-)

Spring break....

is over. Gabby and I didn't go down to Florida. We just didn't have enough time this spring break and wouldn't of been able to do the things we wanted. Hopefully this summer we will be able to go, plus I am trying to get enough courage to fly to Idaho to see Heather and Bill. Grandma thinks that Gabby, me and her should go, we shall see.

The weather has been crazy here. I order some tomato plants by mail, they came and then I wasn't able to plant them because we were still having freezing weather at night. This passed Friday we had a real bad storm that caused us to loose power for 22 hours. What a pain that was, no internet, no lights, no tv, what were we to do.

We did go to the Georgia Aquarium on Thursday. It was nice, but not as great as some people have said it was. Plus it was so crowded that I was so anxious the whole time I was there, which is an awful feeling. But here are a few pictures of some of the fish we saw.

And here is a picture of a butterfly that I found in a head of broccoli that I got at Publix. It was rapped in plastic and stored in my refrigerator for 2 days and was still alive. What a miracle. We put him out in my herb boxes on the porch. But unfortunately he blew away when we had the storm on Friday, sorry Gabby.

Well I think I am back to posting on my blog again. I have been away and doing the Facebook thing, but I kinda think the whole Facebook thing is silly. I like bloggin better. I will have more post of my knitting and I just learned to spin fiber so I will have updates and pictures of that. So until then.....watch out for that Mother Nature because I think she is crazy lately.

My new favorite blog...

http://www.pattyannesplace.blogspot.com/

this is Patty's blog, I meet her at a spinning class at yes yarn. Patty and her friend Caron are some very talented ladies. Not sure why they were taking this spinning class because they seem to know what they were doing. I ordered a Golding spindle, like they had, and can't wait to receive it in the mail to try. Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of some beautiful yarn I make. Wish me luck.

New project bags....

I have new project bags made. I just love these new colors. My favorite part of these is the little notion bag that comes with them. I have put a zipper, two pockets inside, and a snap on the outside. And they fit perfectly in your purse for taking your projects with you everwhere. You can buy them here or at my local yarn shop...yes yarn. Just email me.

My older girls are coming in tomorrow, so I am excited about that. It will be a short visit but I will take anytime I can get with them.

Snow update...

so it is 6:00 p.m. and it is still snowing as of my last posting....Presley loves it....if it keeps up through the night I don't think there will be school and then Gabby will have to make up a day for a snow day....how stupid is that "Mother Nature". Gary says you must be PMSing...haha...

Who would of thought.....

that it would snow in South Carolina March 1st. Not us, that's for sure. I know you can't really see it from the pictures but those white pecks are snow. What the heck is Mother Nature doing anyway. Presley was fasinated with it though. Hopefully it won't get colder and stick and then they cancel school tomorrow, Gabby will be one unhappy teenager.

A pretty day.....

in the Carolina's. It's still a little chilly today, in the 40's, but the sun is shining and it looks like the cows on the hill are enjoying it too.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day. We had a pretty nice one. Here is our lobster dinner that Gary, Grandma and I enjoyed. We each had our own lobster. It was pretty funny because when I came home with them, Gary saw the box they came in and said "oh, poor things, let's let them go". He didn't even want to be in the room when I put them in the pot. He did take a picture and then left the room. (Gabby went to a party if anyone was interested)

But he enjoy every bit of his. They were messy to eat, but very tasty. Theo dog even wanted one. Guess he thought they were big lizards.

Fabulous red...............

that's the new color of my dining room, or as Gabby calls it "Lori's red". We finally finished painting and Gary doing the wayne's coating on the bottom. It only took 6 sixs because of the holidays and Gary going to Florida on business. But it's done, all back together and I loveeeeeeeeeeee it. Now on to the next project.

What do you use....

to hold your rings at night? So I had this little elephant in my box of creatures wanting to be made forever and finished it sometime last year. He came out so cute and William needed a friend to sit with him. William is my little mascot bear sitting in the green chair. I always take him on road trips with me. Well what do you think this little elephants trunk is good for? That's right.... holding my rings at night. Isn't that so adorable? So what unusual ring holders do you all use? There might be a prize for the most unusual one that I see. But I have to tell you, I think mine is pretty cute!

The Eagle has landed......

safely and is now at home. Welcome home Capt. Bill, we are so glad you made it home safe and sound. Now I can put my star quilt away until your next tour. Thanks for keeping us all safe, we love you.

Finally finished...

So Christmas presents didn't get finished exactly for Christmas. But they are getting finished. Here is the scarf I made for Pepper. It felt like it would never end. It came out so nice though. It is made with a 100% Bamboo yarn. It is light weight, which is good for Florida weather. Oh and I added a cute stick pin that we sell at the yarn shop.
The scarf was a very easy pattern that the Wednesday knitting girls shared with me...... Cast on 36 stitches, knit one, yarn over, knit two together.... that's it. I will tell you that the bamboo yarn knits up beautiful, but it seems like there is no end to the ball of yarn.

Artfire site

So I said I would come back in a few days and tell you about this new site I signed up on to sell my bears and stuff. It is just like Etsy but you only pay a monthly fee and don't pay a listing fee or a percentage when you sell your item. Which I think is great. It is brand new so the first 5000 people who sign up will have their account at $7.00 a month for life. After the first 5000 sign up than it will become $20.00 a month. And if anyone wants to sign up under my name, I need 10 people, than I get my account "free" for life. You will have to sign up using the link below and have to sign up for the $7.00 a month account. Because there is a free account that you can use, but I am not sure if that will stay on when the 5000 is filled. It had said on the ArtFire site that this promotion was ending 12/31/08, but they have extended it until the 5000 spots are filled. I really think that $7.00 is a good deal, especially if you are selling big dollar items like your bears. They won't be taking a percentage after the sale. And the great thing about ArtFire is that they let you link your etsy and ebay auctions on your site. That's why I wanted to get in on the ground floor, when this great deal is being offered. I alway find out about these sites after they have been up and running forever.

So all I need to do is start making my bears again. I have two done right now and will be putting them on there this week. So if you are interested in selling whatever you make go try out ArtFire and please if you are going to sign up for the $7.00 a month account please use my link below so I can get credit for telling you. Thanks and lets buy "homemade" this year.
